District 212 celebrates American Ed Week

Updated: December 16, 2012 6:12AM

Leyden will celebrate the annual observance of American Education Week from Nov. 11–17 by focusing on the importance of providing every child attending Leyden high schools with a top-notch public education.

This year’s theme, “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility,” reminds us that students, teachers, staff, administrators and parents work as partners helping students succeed.

The theme also calls upon all Americans to provide children with quality public schools, so they reach their full potential and become world citizens in the 21st century.

District 212 School Board members and administrators congratulate teachers, teachers’ assistants, staff members, the maintenance, transportation and food departments, health care workers, students and their parents for working toward providing students with a quality education and a safe learning environment.
