The Polar Express train ride put on by the Park District of Franklin Park keeps attracting more children each year.
Last year, the district went from one ride to three.
“We’ve been sold out since around Halloween,” district spokeswoman Lauren Calabrese said. “We still get 20 calls a day asking for tickets.”
Each train ride picks up 180 children and takes them to the North Pole — played by the city of Elgin — where Santa will board. On the way children get milk and cookies while the Leyden High School Choir serenades them.~.
