Franklin Park Women’s Club celebrates 115th birthday Oct. 21

FRANKLIN PARK — The Franklin Park Women’s Club was established on Oct. 21, 1897, and subsequently joined the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. This year, members celebrate the club’s 115th birthday as a nonprofit organization.

The club will hold its annual fashion show, luncheon and boutique Saturday, Oct. 20, at Pescatore Palace, 3400 River Road, Franklin Park. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. This event is the main fundraiser for the club and is attended by about 160 guests. Proceeds are given to local students for scholarships toward various arts, academics, leadership and trades. The club also provides monetary support to its philanthropies.
