Updated: March 17, 2012 8:06AM

The talents of District 212 students will be featured on stage at the annual student Talent Show to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, and at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, in the auditorium at West Leyden High School, 1000 N. Wolf Road, Northlake. The event, which includes student vocalists, dancers and musicians from both campuses, is sponsored by Peer Mediation and Operation Snowball programs.

Admission is $3 for students; $5 for adults. Part of the proceeds from the talent show will be donated to the Special Olympics.

“We’ve donated thousands of dollars over the years to Leyden Special Olympic basketball, Special Olympics Polar Plunge and other important programs that positively impact the environment at Leyden high schools,” says Chuck Alvarado, special education teacher and one of the show’s organizers. “Programs such as Peer Mediation and Operation Snowball will continue to exist as long as the Talent Show continues to be a success.”

For more information, call Chuck Alvarado at (847) 451-3129; or Patricia Muldoon at (847) 451-3195.
