Work vans broken into in Northlake

NORTHLAKE — Two work vans in the parking lot at Home Depot, 37 W. North Ave., were recently burglarized.
Between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27, someone broke the passenger side door lock on a 1994 Ford van and stole $1,060 worth of tools, according to Northlake police reports.
Between 11:20 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 26, someone broke the lock from the sliding door of a 2007 Chevrolet van and stole $1,577 worth of tools.
“This is the first uptick we’ve seen,” Police Commander Jay Militello said. “We’re adjusting our patrols accordingly in the area.”
