FRANKLIN PARK
Employees had mostly put out a fire in a Franklin Park business even before emergency crews arrived Sept. 17.
At about 3:30 p.m., firefighters received a call from Mid-America Protective Coatings, 3348 Washington St. A fire had broken out in a 10-by-10 foot electrical room when flammable materials were left next to a hot water heater, Fire Chief Steve Iovinelli said.
There were also five fire extinguishers nearby and employees had the fire under control before firefighters arrived.
“We were there maybe 20 minutes and were done,” Iovinelli said.
